Conditional Release Specialist

This position will be responsible for monitoring those consumers that have returned from a forensic hospital that remain under the jurisidiction of the courts, and are subsequently placed on conditional release for an unspecified length of time. A Bachelor's Degree in a social science field is required. 1 or more years of experience in mental health discipline is required. Certified Mental Health Professional Certification preferred. Requires data collection of statistics, submission of status reports to the courts, and the individual will work independently with minimum supervision. Excellent comunication/verbal skills for assisting with composition of a conditional release by the public defender's office. Ability to use appropriate, non-partisan communication, intervention and interaction skills. Exposure to adverse working conditions due to consumers who are mentally ill, may be psychotic, and who may present some exposure to communicable diseases, be verbally abusive or present a threat of violence.
